These themes are important for early childhood development. Every time I have read the book to my daughter I feel that she has gotten something new from the reading. The artwork is creative, funny and engaging, with lots of easter eggs for kids to find. It's a sweet book and not scary at all - the monsters are so friendly! It's a great book for all ages - totally appropriate for younger kids, but the humor and easter eggs would keep older kids (and adults) entertained too.
